Natalia

test

At the press release of Axelle Red’s special project for JBC, we ran into Natalia, an intern at Elle Belgium. Since her teens, Natalia’s biggest love has been fashion. While she used to love to shop a lot, she has now reached the stage where she prefers to shop less pieces, but more unique and of higher quality. As an intern, of course she is limited in her budget, which can be hard, especially if you have a shoe addiction as big as hers. That’s why she always thinks twice before she buys and always with a certain look or style in mind. And the helicopter… Just happened to be there.

Photoshoot for AK-Culture

test

We already introduced you to Gill, founder of AK Culture. This webshop focuses on urban style and sells brands like Cheap Monday, Converse, Vans, Levi’s, … Well, we have some great news for you: Ghentstreetstyle will be collaborating with AK culture in the future! Monthly we will get crazy in a fotoshoot, styled with the clothing of AK culture. For our first shoot, we went to the rooftop of a building, with models Nilo and Feline. All looks were styled by me (Karen) and Bram was responsible for the photography and postproduction. We hope you like it! Special thanks to our models Nilo and Feline and the assistance from Emile and Domenico!

Btw: We are looking for models for similar shoots in the future. If you are interested, feel free to contact us on ghentstreetstyle@gmail.com and send us a few photographs.

Ruth

test

One of my favorite nominated fashion blogs, was The Merrymakers. Antwerp duo Ruth and Nathalie each have a distinct style and their blogposts are therefore always endlessly inspiring. Ruth’s outfit for the blog awards was right up my alley. The lovely jacket by Iro, the surprisingly beautiful Guess booties and the classic Balenciaga bag, create a gorgeous monotone and comfortable look. ‘Since I’m blonde, I can not go too crazy. Otherwise you get kind of a barbie effect.’ Ruth describes her own style as casual. She works for the PR agency Oona and likes to invest in more expensive pieces. Those who want to explore the world of Ruth and Nathalie, can visit their blog here.

Ali

test

When we got to know Ali, we noticed that he has that certain je-ne-sais-quoi. He’s is a very likeable, lively and honest young man. Ali grew up in London and New Jersey, but has been living in Belgium for ten years now. He still commutes a lot between these countries, since his father lives in New York. Ali is clearly interested in fashion. He loves to shop, but is very critical and selective. We are crazy about his funny earring of Good Wood. Together with Mahmoud and illustrator/streetartist ‘A Squid Called Sebastian’, Ali started the t-shirt and sweatshirt label ‘Lifestyle of a Dreamer’, for which we did a photo shoot. Soon we will post some images of the shoot, but you can already find a little preview in the last image above…
