Minju Kim

To our great surprise we ran into Minju Kim at the fashion show of the KASK. You may recognize her as the winner of the H&M Design award 2013. She got the opportunity to design her own collection for H&M. It turned into a great success. The collection was sold out in a few moments. Minju studied at the Fashion Academy of Antwerp, but is originally from South Korea. She is one of those designers whose personal style is a clear reflection of her designs. She is wearing shoes of her own design and a top by a local Korean designer. Let’s stop for a second to focus on het beautiful plexi Delvaux bag. I’m jealous already! Belgian designer Eddy Anemian, a 24-year old student at La Cambre, won this year’s H&M Design award. We can’t wait for his collection to hit stores!

Angelique Foré

Belmodo is a Belgian pioneer on everything that’s happening online. The lifestyle newssite already exists over 5 years now and has just taken a huge step forward by closing a deal with Borgerhoff & Lamberigts (B&L). So it’s about time we introduced you to Angelique, partner of Belmodo but most of all a very cool chick. The outfit she is wearing here is a mix of statement pieces. That’s why we decided to photograph her on the empty catwalk after the KASK fashion show. The electric blue perforated skirt is a true eyecatcher, but you have to choose your underwear wisely. “My pink fluo panties was one step too far.” she jokes. Angelique loves combining high end labels with cheaper pieces. “No matter what day or occasion it is, I notice that I’m always wearing something from H&M.” And indeed, her clutch is from the conscious collection!

Sarah Roelstraete

Have you ever wondered what a stylist wears in her daily life? Here you have a perfect example! Sarah Roelstraete is freelance stylist for multiple Belgian magazines. As a stylist she loves to have fun with fashion and is not afraid to play around with different styles. The outfit she is wearing here is clearly ‘vintage inspired’. The beautiful dress is from the Vika Gazinskaya for & Other Stories collection, which has turned to be a big hit filled with must-have pieces. We ran into Sarah at the fashion show of the students of the KASK art-school. This year the show took place in the Eskimofabriek and we truly enjoyed every moment of it. Another big thank-you to Thijs and Tamara from Turbulence for the amazing evening!

Gladys Doris Dave

Even though Bram and I have been blogging for over 4 years now, it still strikes us that we don’t know the entire Belgian blogosphere yet. A recent discovery is the blog of Gladys Doris Dave. This graphic designer lives in Ghent and has an amazing minimalistic personal style. On her blog, she shares her daily looks in a very original, almost editorial way. The look she is wearing here is simple, but with well thought-through details, like the rings, the chunky shoes and the pops of color in the bag, the manicure and the red lips. We still don’t understand that we didn’t run into such a talented blogger from Ghent (!) sooner, but I’m sure glad we did!

Personal Favorites

As a streetstyler, I’m human and have a personal style, so let’s take a moment to focus on some of my own favorite looks from Paris.

1. I absolutely love the long fur coat with white booties. So unexpected but really refined and cool. But most importantly, it’s very easy to copy for this coming winter.

2. You may recognise Miss Olivia Palermo on the second picture? I am normally not a big fan of her style but I absolutely love this look on her. The white midi pencil skirt with the short fur jacket is really gorgeous. It’s a lot going on but somehow it really comes together.

3. My absolute favorite piece spotted at fashion week is the burgundy Alexander Wang jacket. Wang is one of my absolute favorite designers (I have been dreaming of his famous Rocco bag for years now. I call it the ‘Wangbang’). This jacket was one of my favorite designs of him so to see it in real life was absolutely impressive.

4. A final favorite detail is Anne Della Russo wearing the Balenciaga fisherman’s hat. I don’t know what it is about this piece but I absolutely love it… Maybe the fact that it’s a design by Alexander Wang may have something to do with it!
