Let’s explore with Palladium

Everyone has those brands that bring up a lot of memories from their childhood. To me one of the most important brands is Palladium. Our family had the habit to travel to all kinds of far and exotic destinations every summer. For one month we went back to basics and explored countries such as Sri Lanka, Haiti, Ecuador, Malaysia, Botswana, Uganda,… Every summer a different destination and a new adventure. A pair of Palladium boots was a true companion during all those hiking trips through the dessert of Morocco, the jungle in Ecuador or the savannah in Botswana. I have worn out countless pairs, just as my parents and my sister. I couldn’t be happier that this classic is now making a comeback. If you haven’t noticed, Palladiums are hot and this makes me rediscover the brand. This time, I decided to pick a black pair. They will be my companions this summer during festivals, our big trip planned to Indonesia and all my next exploring adventures!

Boots: Palladium
Coat: G-Star
T-shirt: Zara
Jeans: Kings of Indigo

Urban Crafts

Our Instagram readers already got a preview on this project: a few weeks ago, the cameraman of Urban Crafts followed me through the streets of Ghent. The goal was to create a ‘behind the scene’ – movie about Ghentstreetstyle and I am very happy with the result! If you want to have a peek into how Ghentstreetstyle works, then you have to check out the video. And there is more… Urban Crafts is a competition with the focus on young creatives. One of these creative will win the huge price of a ticket to Burning Man, a festival in the USA that I have wanted to visit for ages. So I am asking you, dear readers, to visit this link and to vote for me via the facebook or twitter button. If I get to Burning Man, I promise you the craziest streetstyle post ever. So please visit Urban Crafts and make me the first streetstyle photographer to ever visit Burning Man!

Maasmechelen Village

Even though Bram and I love to shop in our beloved Ghent, we sometimes have the need to explore new territory. On an otherwise dull Sunday, we decided to visit Maasmechelen Village. This theme park for the fashionista is located in Limburg. Since neither of us own a car, our only option was to go by train. Well prepared, we hopped on the direct train from Gent Sint Pieters to Genk. We eagerly used this time to work a little more on the blog. After crossing almost entire Belgium, we took the bus that would bring us from the station to the village. An afternoon of shopping in Maasmechelen is over before you realize it. Luckily there is an application that will guide you through the outletvillage. We decided to take a look at Michael Kors, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, LeCreuset and Suit Supply, where they alter your costume on the spot. Bram was overjoyed when he discovered his favorite Calvin Klein underwear at only 15 € a piece instead of 25€. A great discount on a basic, that almost never goes on sale. I found my favorite bra in a new color for only 12 € instead of 42 €. Talking about a bargain! Since shopping is like cardio, we were happy to step on the train back. One thing is certain: we will be back!
